Solar
hot water heater models
Years ago flat plate collectors
were the norm. They still work well, but technology has improved things
and now the world uses vacuum tube solar heaters.
But not all vacuum tube heaters
are the same...look below and see why.
| advantages: | description: | pictures of the models: | disadvantages: |
| - 55% efficiency.
- much lower price, simplicity. - good starter or off grid model, or seasonal use. - replacement tubes are cheap to buy and easy to install. - good units for heating water if your temperatures do not get below -0c very often. Chinese invention. |
non-pressurized:
normal double wall vacuum heat tube. water goes directly into tubes. |
average hot water production from this type of heater is 5-6 tubes per person based on 30-40 liters consumption per person. |
- if one tube is broken it needs to be replaced in order for the unit
to work again.
- cannot be "directly" used in a pressurized system. - not good in water with heavy iron or lime buildups - not meant for freezing temperatures |
| - will work even if some tubes get broken.
- this tube is the same as our non-pressurized tube but with an heat exchanger insert and plastic plug to contain the heat inside the tube. American invention.
|
pressurized:
using a non-pressurized normal vacuum heat tube with an insert. No water goes directly into tubes.
|
Our competitors super tubes
average hot water production is 4-5 tubes per person based on 30-40 liters consumption per person. |
- complete units need to be twice the size of OUR "super heat tube" units, and ultimately end up being more expensive per person for cost. |
| - 94% efficient
- will work even if some tubes get broken - smaller in size and does the work of units twice its size. - most cost effective unit, per person, best in quality. - rated for -50c. - tubes can be easily replaced. - welded sealed ends (like a light bulb) and advanced technology make this the best in the world. German engineered. |
pressurized:
vacuum tube with super heat tube exchanger. No water goes directly into tubes. |
Our super tubes!!
|
The only disadvantage is that we are not all using one.
The energy savings in Canada would be huge!!! |
